Song Analysis
Main Form
Theme(A, B, C)→ Interlude 1→ Solo(D, E, F)→ Interlude 2→ Last Theme(G, H)
* A, B, C... are rehearsal letters which use for rehearsals and practice. Not related to the section of the song.
Theme (A, B, C)
Form: a, a', b, b', c (16 measures in each section)
Key: a, a' is E minor, b is a kind of E minor, b' modulates to minor 3rd up and then c is back to E minor.
(A= a, a', B=b, b', C=c)
Solo (D, F, F)
I created the solo section from the idea of improvisation. It's the most jazz way.
In jazz, perform improvisation with the same chord progression of the theme.
In this section, I arranged the chord progression a little. But it's almost the same as the theme.
(D= a, a', E=b, b', F=c)
Last Theme (G, H)
The last theme goes back to the first theme.
Usually, the last theme repeats the first theme (a, a', b, b', c ), but considering the overall balance, skipped the 1st a, a' instead of inserting an interlude. So the last theme is b, b', c, c.
This c modulates to G minor. (minor 3rd up) The ending is the same chord progression as the interlude.
