Akatsuki from 5 Piano Peaces "Hitohi"【Piano Sheet Music】

Hello!  It's Sakiko😃

The sheet music『Akatsuki』from the album "Sakiko Masuda Piano Solo" is now available on Piascore !!

This song is one of the five piano pieces "Hitohi".

I wondered if I should write the chord name or not.

After all, I write down the scale name instead of the chord.

Because I composed this song from the idea of mode.

But you can see that Mixolydian means dominant 7th chord and Aeolian means minor 7th chord!!

The time 5/8 and 6/8 are mixed, but I think it's surprisingly easy to listen, so please check it out 🎶

Song Analysis

Song Form

a, a' b, a''

The rehearsal letters are A, B, C, D.

 A = a

The time is almost 5/8.

It's the intro in measures 1 - 4. The pattern is that D Mixolydian and D Aeolian repeated, going back and forth between major and minor, then D Mixolydian♭13 melody comes in.

B = a'

a'  is almost the same as a.

Modulate to subdominant key G Mixolydian from measure 23.

section b (C)

The time is 6/8.

Measures 29 - 36 are key F Mixolydian and the next measures 37 - 44 modulate to dominant key C Mixolydian.

I've only transposed the first 8 bars to the next 8bars.

section a''  (D)

I composed this section by transposing a' (B) a perfect fifth up.

The last key is back to the same D Mixolydian as the top of the song.

I'm used to many techniques, but the melody, mode, and chord progression are similar to other sections.

I think that's the best way to compose the song easier to hear.
